Harry J. Roxberry Sr., 79 formerly of Lake Placid, Florida died at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the home of his daughter, Rebecca Collin, 1520 Elk St., Franklin, where he had been residing
He was born in Clintonville on March 19, 1931, a son of Jesse James and Goldie M. Williams Roxberry. He attended public schools in Clintonville.
Mr. Roxberry was employed as a driver for Pepsi and then worked for 38 years for Asplundh Tree Company, retiring from there.
He was a member of the International Electrical Workers AFFL.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. He was also well known for BMX Bicycle Riding and at the age of 60 he won the Pennsylvania State Championship. He was the oldest rider in his class.
He was married to Ruth Maxine Myers on August 15, 1950 and she died in November 2002. He was remarried on July 24, 2006 to Joan Miller and she survives in Lake Placid, Florida.
Also surviving are four children, Rebecca Collin and her husband Eric, Franklin; Kimberly Krepp and her husband Kevin, Reno; Harry J. Roxberry Jr. and his wife Karen, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Donald A. Roxberry and his wife Mellissa, Rocky Grove; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Alsbaugh and her husband Bruce, Rocky Grove; Eric Chatley and his wife Dawn, Rocky Grove; Julie D?Amico and her significant other, Jimmy, Franklin; Matthew Blum, DuBois? Patty Roxberry, Megan Roxberry, Charlie Roxberry, all of Meadville; Jacob Roxberry, Oil City; Nicholas Alexander Roxberry and Sean Michael Roxberry both of Rocky Grove; five great-grandchildren, Allyssa, Kyler, Dylan, Paige and Mackynzee; a brother Chester Roxberry, Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Carl Roxberry and Braden Roxberry.
There will be no visitation.
A Funeral service will be held in the Lupher Chapel Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jimmy Arogast officiating.
