Iona E. Flickner, 92 of 1011 Chestnut St. Franklin died at 5:40 P.M. Saturday March 10, 2012 at Sugar Creek Station where she has been a resident for the last 5 � years.
Born August 10, 1919 in Oakland Twp. , she was the daughter of the late Albert Clare and Pearl McCurry Flickner.
She graduated in 1934 from Oil City High School at age 15.
She worked at various households in the Franklin and Oil City Area prior to working for 27 years at General Manifold. She worked for 11 years at Polk State School until her retirement in 1982.
Iona spent her winters at Lake Alfred in Florida and her summers in Pennsylvania.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin.
Surviving are two sisters; Janet Rogers and Doris Speer; a brother William A. Flickner and his wife Shelley and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Judd L. Flickner and Roy E. Flickner.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be made at Bethel Cemetery.
