Jack A. "Cokey" Cokain

December 19, 1948 — July 11, 2015

Jack A. "Cokey" Cokain, 66 of Harrisville formerly of Zelienople and Bethel Park passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 11, 2015 at Grove City Medical Center.

Born in Grove City on December 19, 1948, he was the son of the late James V. and Elizabeth "Betty" Rebold Cokain.

Jack attended Victory School until his junior year and then graduated from Franklin High School. He also graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked for many years at Eichleay/ECI Inc. in Pittsburgh.

Jack enjoyed traveling all of over the country for his work and always made new friends wherever he was. He spent time in Michigan, Alabama and Missouri but was a country boy at heart and upon retirement, he and Sue retired to Harrisville. He loved feeding the birds and enjoyed anything outdoors.

He loved woodworking, canning, cooking, smoking meat, and doing everything he could with Sue at his side. He especially enjoyed passing down the family tradition of making sauerkraut and a New Year's dinner with friends and family.

On Valentine's Day, 2001 Jack married the former Susan Abraitis, live on KDKA Radio and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; David A. Cokain of Pleasant Hills and Mark A. Cokain of Canonsburg; a step daughter, Michelle Baglio and her husband Chris of Tacoma, WA; two sisters, Joyce A. Hamil and her husband Kurt of Midland TX; Jean A. Carlton and her husband Greg of Tempe, AZ; a cousin Bob Cokain of Harrisville; four grandchildren, Jenna, Julia, Blake, and Kendall; and his beloved dogs, Jack and Jill and cats, Ebony and Ivory.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends welcome Saturday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Jamison Funeral Home Inc. 117 N. Main St. Harrisville.

A Blessing service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home with Father Kevin Poecking, of St. Anthony Church, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter Parish Sunshine Fund 342 Normal Ave. Slippery Rock, PA 16057 to help our neighbors in need.
