Louise F. Wolfkiel, 85, of 172 Causeway Drive died at 5:06 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at UPMC Northwest.
A daughter of Earl and Christine Uhl Fleming she was born in Clarion on June 9, 1926. She moved with her family to Franklin and was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School.
Mrs. Wolfkiel had worked at Murphy?s, Foodland and Bill?s Market in Franklin. She was one of the first to learn how to operate the electronic lottery machines.
She lived to be a grandmother and always had pictures to share with everyone. She crafted many afghans and made sure her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews all had one. She also enjoyed Bingo and was known to play as many as five nights a week.
On June 16, 1944 she married Donald H. Wolfkiel. He died March 6, 2006.
Surviving are a son Donald Scott Wolfkiel and a daughter Cheryl ?Cherie? Riddle both of Franklin; two grandchildren Donald R. Riddle and his wife Manya of Pittsburgh and Shelley C. Rice and her husband Jesse of Franklin; three great-grandchildren Christina M. Rice and Katelynn B. Rice both of Franklin and Sydney E. Riddle of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are a sister Virginia Graner and her husband Ron of Akron, OH; a brother-in-law Darrell D. Heffernan of Polk, several nieces and nephews and her dog Dudley.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lou Heffernan.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. David Parker, pastor of the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Venango County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Oil City PA 16301.
