Betty Joan Morrison, 92, of Franklin, entered her Heavenly Home on August 3, 2026 at the Collins House in Rocky Grove with her loving family by her side.
Born on September 30, 1933 in Franklin, she was daughter of the late Ellis and Clara Free.
Betty was a 1951 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.
She was an active member of Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church in Franklin.
Throughout the years, Betty worked in the trucking industry, restaurant industry, and retired in 1993 from Coaxial Cable.
She joined the Rocky Grove Volunteer Auxiliary in 1949 and was a lifelong member. She was a one time president and was an active participant in the building of the fire department at the location it currently stands. In 1976, she was recognized by the Auxiliary as Woman of the Year.
Betty was a member of bowling leagues in both Seneca and Franklin well into her 80's. She was recognized by the Greater Oil Region Bowling Association and placed in the Hall of Fame in 2018.
Throughout the years she had enjoyed playing bingo, going to dirt track races, card clubs, and many sporting events. In 2000, Betty received a certificate of appreciation for her support and commitment to the athletic program at Rocky Grove High School.
Her children and grandchildren will always remember Grandma Betty's Fudge.
Betty was first married to Philip Engles on June 6, 1952. On May 7, 1966, she was married to Marvin "Loppy" Morrison. Both preceded her in death.
She is survived by eight children: Kenneth (Victoria) Engles, Timothy (Jo Anne) Engles, Jodi (Donald) Huff, Kimberly Stover, Sherman (Tracy) Morrison, Kathi (Dawson) Beer, Peggy (Dale) Miller, and Jean Lowrie. Her 27 grandchildren include: Jessica, Rebecca, Matt, Heather, Jason, Patrick (PJ), Alisha, Bethany, Travis, Cassandra, Richard, Samantha, Christopher, James, Michael, Brandon, Austin, Susan, Donna, Richard, Dale Jr., Steven, Amy, Robert, Dale, Scott, Anita, and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Betty is additionally survived by a brother, James Free, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters Doris Cheers, Gladys Fulmer, Marjorie (Chub) Sanner, and her son in-law, Richard Stover.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park Street, Franklin where friends and family will be received from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday.
Additional visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday at Atlantic Avenue Church, 160 Atlantic Ave., Franklin, PA 16323 with the funeral service to take place at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Brad Riddle, officiating.
Interment will take place at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
