Obituary

Brenda Joyce Daugherty Seigworth, age 84, of Moon Twp, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Concordia at Villa St Joseph in Baden, PA.

Brenda was born in Seneca, Venango County, PA on August 23, 1941, the youngest child of the late Cyrus Wade and Luella (Clark) Daugherty.

In her youth, Brenda loved roller skating, often asking her older brothers for the fifty cents needed to enter the Seneca Roller Rink. They often teased her but gave in. She was preceded in death by Charles (Gretchen), Kenneth (Louise) and Robert (Phyllis) Daugherty and two sisters, Jean (Robert) Weaver and Lois (Earl) Shultz. She loved spending time with family and especially looked forward to the Annual Summer and Christmas Celebrations at Bob and Phyl’s house.

Taking pictures of family and her many friends and capturing the places visited while traveling was her favorite hobby. She was never without a camera. Brenda was also known for her singing voice. Starting in high school, she sang with the jazz band and continued singing throughout her life. Her favorite songs were hymnals. She was a woman of great faith and enjoyed singing in church.

It was in her hometown of Seneca that she met and married the love of her life, Richard Fred Seigworth, who preceded her in death in November 2011 after 47 years of marriage. They lived in Pittsburgh where Fred was the proud owner of Petroleum Equipment Services. Brenda worked alongside him as bookkeeper and office manager. After retiring to Butler County, she became a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church and led the Over 55+ Group Faithful Followers for years. The Dutilh family became her family.

Brenda lived the last six years at Apple Blossom Senior Living in Moon Twp, PA. She was known by all as she drove her motorized scooter delivering the daily bulletin. She always had a smile for everyone and never wanted to see anyone eat in the dining room alone.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tracy, and son-in-law, Edward Kosis III, of Imperial, PA. Brenda’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, Garrett and Savannah Kosis. She delighted in telling everyone about them. She especially enjoyed family trips traveling with them whether taking cruises or driving the coast of California. They truly made her heart swell with pride and joy every day.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 3:30 – 5 pm at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Twp PA 16066. A Service will be held at the church following the visitation at 5 pm.

Additional viewing will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 10am-12pm at Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St, Franklin PA 16323.

Internment will follow at Brandon Cemetery, Seneca, PA where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Fred.
