Carol Jean Vath, 57, of Polk died at 8:11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at her home.
A daughter of Carl J. Huff and Alice Carter Huff Persing she was born in Oil City on December 24, 1957. She was a graduate of Oil City High School.
Carol was employed as a resident aide at Polk Center until taking a disability retirement in 1983.
She was an artist and enjoyed watching the birds, listening to her wind chimes and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.
On May 27, 1977 she married Richard D. Vath, who survives along with a daughter Nicole Vath Sterling and her husband Norman of Oil City; a son Richard Vath II and his wife Raina Hedglin- Vath of Franklin; and 4 grandchildren Wyatt James Hedglin, Onnahlei Hedglin-Vath, Brayleigh Vath-Sterling and Chase Sterling. Also surviving are two brothers Bob Huff and his wife Mary Lou and Bill Huff and his wife Joyce and two sisters Susan Reed and her husband Daniel and Kathy Larsen and her husband Larry and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Don Persing, and a sister Sandy.
Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St. from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
