Charles E. Rea

Charles E. Rea, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

He was born in Oil City on November 27, 1938 to the late Clifford I. and Lois (Watson) Rea.

Chuck graduated from Oil City High School in 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was in the 82nd Airborne Division for three years, serving in the U.S.A., Europe, and the Mid East.

He graduated from Clarion State College in 1967 with a BA Degree in Natural Sciences. Chuck then went to work for the PA Bureau of State Parks as a Park Manager surving 7 years at Ohiopyle, 14 years at Black Moshannon, and 10 years at Reeds Gap- Poe Paddy. He retired in 1999 after 32 years.

Chuck married his wife, Marcia (Stamm) Rea on August 19, 1967 at the First Methodist Church in Ellwood City, PA. They had two sons, John Andrew Rea (Philipsburg, PA) and James Edward Rea (Loysville, PA).

Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years, and two sons, Andy (Lois) and Jim (Susan). Five grandchildren; Rebekah Diehl (Alfred), Abigail Ireland (Aaron), Joshua (Katie), Adam, Ethan, one great grandchild Callie Rea Diehl, and his sister Donna Rea Boocks (Gale). Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Beth, Dan, Eric, and Becky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, John Fulton Rea (Sharon).

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home, 312 West Park St. Franklin, PA 16323 where family and friends will be received from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday for visitation.

The funeral service will be held immediately after at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Heim of Victory Heights United Brethren Church, officiating.

Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard at the conclusion of the funeral service.

Interment will take place at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
