Clara Lou Hays, 79, of Franklin, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday April 17, 2016 at The Caring Place.

A daughter of the late John W. and Grace A. Crum Hays, she was born in Franklin on April 11, 1937.

Clara worked for a time at Woolworth's 5 & 10 before working as a physical therapy aide at Polk Center for 29 1/2 years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Dept. In 1993 she was named their Woman of the Year.

Clara enjoyed playing bingo, cards and visiting the casino.

Surviving are two sisters Tethel Humphry of Greenville and Mary Pardee of Oil City, a aunt Dorothy Aber of Franklin and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, a brother Walter Hays, and 5 sisters Wanda Hays, Ethel Thompson, Enid Bell, Florence "Betty" Shaw and Mabel Leyda.

At her request there will be no public visitation or services.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
