Clarissa, age 103, died peacefully the evening of Friday, July 5, 2024 at Cape Coral Rehab in Cape Coral, FL.
Born January 23, 1921, to Harvey and Irene Burgard Davis, she lived in Franklin, PA with her parents and siblings.
Clarissa married William "Bill" Ray in 1937. They had thirty-seven wonderful years and four children together. Bill and Clarissa enjoyed traveling for recreation and hunting with trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming. During her life, Clarissa lived in Franklin, Woodland & Clearfield, PA, and St. James City & Cape Coral, FL.
Clarissa was a homemaker and was known for her homemade bread, butter, and delicious home cooked meals. Among the many things she will be remembered for are the many hours she spent quilting at local church quilting groups. Clarissa was a devout Christian, reading her Bible daily, praying for so many needs, saying grace before meals, attending church and Sunday School regularly. She enjoyed spending time with family; her grandchildren fondly remember baking, reading, and completing puzzles together. Clarissa was generous with her time and always willing to help those in need. She will be deeply missed.
Clarissa was preceded in death by husbands William Ray, Robert Carns, and Marion Marvin, as well as siblings Agnes Keith, Irwin Davis, June Richey and Albert Davis, daughter in law Corinne Ray and grandson Steve Ray.
She is survived by her sister, Janice Hines, and her four children William Ray, Jr., Terry (Nancy) Ray, Sue (Scott) Simmons, and RoxAnn (Alan) Mason. In addition, Clarissa is survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.
