Clyde E. "JR" Baker Jr., 59, of Franklin, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at UPMC Hamot on Monday, March 23, 2026.Born in Franklin on April 4, 1966, he was the son of Linda McElhaney Baker Perrine and the late Clyde E. Baker Sr.

JR was a 1984 graduate of Franklin School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He worked as a truck driver, most recently at Komatsu.

JR attended Galloway Church.

He was an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast who also enjoyed spending time at the gun range. Just last year, he tagged the largest buck of his life. He liked attending estate auctions and had a way of making friends wherever he went, never remaining a stranger for long.

JR was a member of Lake Myrtle Lodge #316 F&AM. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was former Shriner with the Zem Zem Tri Wheels..

His selfless legacy will live on through his tissue donation through CORE.

On September 24, 1988, he married the former Lori Smouse and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters; Lisa Hoover Rader (Aaron) of Daytona Beach, FL and Brittany Baker Oehlsen (Matt) of Stamford CT; three grandchildren, Madison Bowen (Dallas), Baylei Rader and Kendra Rader all of Daytona Beach, FL; one-great granddaughter, Eleanora Bowen; one brother, Dan Baker (Pam) of Victora, TX and his sister-in-law, Pam McVay.

He was preceded in death by his father, his sister, Neisha Baker and his mother and father-in-law, Harry and Mary Smouse.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.

Members of Lake Myrtle Lodge #316 F&AM will hold services for their departed brother on Thursday at 6:45 P.M. in the funeral home. 

Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Friday at Galloway Church, 196 Seysler Rd. Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Roy Gearhart, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery where JR will receive full military honors rendered by the V.E.T.S Honor Guard.
