Deidre "Dee" Lynn McGinnis

Deidre “Dee” Lynn McGinnis, 62, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

Born in Franklin on August 10, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marilyn Felmlee Hoover.

Deidre cherished the time she had with family and she will be missed dearly by many. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She was very artistic and creative and loved to rock hound. Deidre also enjoyed to travel with her family.

In her earlier years, Deidre worked as a nursing assistant and loved being able to help those in need. She truly lived for others.

Deidre loved her cats Baby and Buddy.

Surviving are three children, Thomas Kelly of Oil City, Amy Kelly of Utica and Sara McGinnis of Tionesta and fifteen grandchildren , Alexis, TJ, Micah, Courtney, Rashell, Ryan, George Jr., Jacob, Hayden, Kory, Nathan, Danny, Shaylee, Kya, Richard and several great-grandchildren.

Additionally surviving is a sister Donna Shook and her husband Keith of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her longtime companion Keith Boyd; and six siblings Donald Hoover, Dolly Hoover, Dave Hoover, Deanna Hoover, Dallas Hoover and Debra Poston and her sons, life partner, Stephanie Moore.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, 160 Atlantic Ave. Franklin, PA 16323 with Pastor Ryan Advent, Officiating.
