Dwight A. Kephart

Dwight A. "Buck" Kephart, 68, of Polk, passed away at 12:10 A.M. on Thursday August 29, 2019 at Sugar Creek Station.

Born in Sharon on May 28, 1951, he was the son of the late William L. and Cora Shaffer Kephart.

Dwight proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He worked for a number years at Vision Quest as a cook.

Dwight was an avid hunter who also enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking and he was well known for his homemade Macaroni and Cheese.

On June 13, 1998 he married the former Patricia Coogan and she survives.

Also surviving are four children; William Kephart and his companion Tiffany Williamson of Paynesville, OH, Kathleen West of Sheakleyville, Erin Mays of Pittsburgh and David Porter of Franklin; seven grandchildren, William Kephart, James Kephart, Ellie Kephart, Hannah Kephart, Siena Malin, Zackary Mays and Logan Porter.

Additionally surviving are two sisters; Judith Farr of Mercer, and Jan Boettner, and a niece, Rebekah Chiodo of Sharpsville. Buck had many friends, way too many to mention, but he was loved and will be missed by all.

At Dwight's request there will be no visitation or service.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.
