Eddie Franklin Smith

Eddie Franklin Smith, 71, of Franklin, formerly of Albion, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Sugar Creek Care Center.

Born in Meadville on November 2, 1953, he was the son of the late Samuel E. and Carol Jean Lester Smith.

He was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Albion. 

Eddie worked 44 years as a long haul truck driver making countless trips across country. He was proud that he never had an accident in all of his years on the road. 

He loved fishing, especially catching Walleye in Lake Erie. Eddie also enjoyed hunting and and was very proud of the bear he got a few years ago.

Surviving is his son, Chad Smith of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Dorothy Watson (Larry) of Franklin and Nancy Heard (Allan) of Buffalo, MO; two grandchildren, Colton and Taylor and one great-grandchild. 

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Eddie will be laid to rest at Hope Cemetery in Cranesville.
