Ethel A. McKinley, 97 a longtime resident of Polk Center, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:23 P.M. Wednesday March 16, 2016 surrounded by her friends.
Born August 19, 1918 in Beaverdale, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marette McKinley.
Ethel was the longest living resident at Polk Center, having resided there for nearly 82 years.
She was a very caring person who always took pride in assisting with her fellow residents in the Meadow side building.
Ethel participated in the Special Olympics at age 74 making her the oldest person competing.
She enjoyed playing bingo and being pampered with her nails and hair always being done. She loved her jewelry and carrying around and asking for new dollar bills.
Over the years Ethel touched numerous lives of the residents and staff at Polk Center and will be greatly missed.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin, where friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with the Polk Chaplaincy, officiating.
Interment will follow at Old Sandy Cemetery.
