Evelyn Margaret Banks

July 4, 1962 — February 4, 2025

Reno, PA

Evelyn “Margaret” Banks, 62, of Reno and Henrys Bend, PA, passed away peacefully February 4, 2025, at UPMC Northwest surrounded by her family.

Born on Independence Day, the Fourth of July, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Charles P.

Faulk and Evelyn M. Faulk (Pond). One of twelve children, Margaret was a loving, kind-hearted, devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and wife.

She always put the needs of others before her own. Margaret (also known to her family as Margie or Aunt Marga) was a constant source of support, never hesitating to lend a helping hand with the younger kids or the many nieces and nephews. She put her life and plans on hold to help care for others who needed her.

She was happiest living in the quiet countryside and being a homebody. Margie's love for cooking and baking reflected her warm and nurturing nature. She was taught canning and baking at a young age by her Mum, a skill she later mastered and shared with her loved ones.

Baking was her therapy, and she took great pride in it. A self-taught crafter and artist, she painted and worked on her newest passion, diamond art, until her last few months of life. She enjoyed reading and tending to her many flowering plants and gardens.

Margie was a true animal lover who cared for her pets throughout her life, including ponies, chickens, rabbits, dogs, Ricky the raccoon, and her cats. She loved, fed and cared for any stray animal that found its way to her front door. In her later years, she taught us all about the love of cats and the love they give back. Her kitties, Mia, Shadow, Charlie, Stormy, and Abraham, became her faithful, loyal companions.

Dear sister Margaret, you will always be in our hearts, and we will carry your memories with us until we join you and our family on the other side. We miss you every day.

"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen."

Margaret is survived by her siblings, Sandy, Barb, Sue, Sherry, Cindy, Pat, Carol, Billy, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her brother Brian (Bri), her sister Kimmy, and her brother Bruce, who passed away shortly after her.

With heartfelt gratitude, our family would like to express our most profound appreciation for the efforts and care that Margaret's UPMC Northwest care team provided to her every Wednesday. Their dedication and compassion made a significant difference in Margaret's life, and we are forever grateful. We also extend our gratitude to the UPMC ICU team for the excellent care she received in her final days.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin, where a celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026.
