Evelyn W. “Evie” Ostergard, 88, of Franklin, passed away on April 1, 2026, at the home of her son, Jeremy, in Mercer.

She was born on March 25, 1938, in Erie to the late Harold “Witt” and Harriet Wittenburg.

Evie was a 1956 graduate of McDowell High School.

She married the late Douglas “Doug” Ostergard on November 30, 1957, in Erie. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2017.

Evie was a master gardener who took great pride in her flowers and landscaping and loved watching birds visit her many feeders. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, creating many handmade items that she shared with those she loved. She was a faithful member of East Grove Church in Franklin.

Evie is survived by her three children: Cynthia Muir and her husband, Kevin, of Centerville; Christian Ostergard and his wife, Kaylynn, of Erie; and Jeremy Ostergard and his wife, Tammy, of Mercer.She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Sabrina Davenport and her fiancé, Chuck Tucker, of Titusville; Kyle Davenport and his wife, Trisha, of Callensburg; Tyler Muir of Centerville; Allisha Muir and her fiancé, Jimmy Black, of Centerville; Tristan Ostergard and his wife, Brooklyn, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Garrett Ostergard of Franklin; and Megan and Kenzie Ostergard of Mercer; as well as ten great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, Evie is survived by her two sisters, Shirley Keineth and Barbara “Babs” Maasz and her husband, William “Biff,” both of Erie.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park St, Franklin.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8 at East Grove Church, 1167 Belmar Road, Franklin, PA 16323.

The memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary with Rev. Matthew Blake, officiating.
