Gary D. Stevens

Gary D. Stevens, 77, of County Line Road, Harrisville died at 7:33 p.m. Friday August 2, 2013 at Butler Memorial Hospital. A son of Kenneth and Mary Walter Stevens he was a born in Harrisville on January 24, 1936.��He attended Slippery Rock High School. Gary was a veteran of the U. S. Army and had been a member of the Harrisville American Legion Post. A heavy equipment operator he had worked for several area coal mining companies.��His leisure time was spent tinkering with and mowing with his tractors and his dog.��His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his treasure. On October 2, 1961 he married the former Carole Hiwiller, she survives along with a daughter Anita Stevens of Renfrew, two sons John Stevens and his companion Punkin Redmond and David Stevens and his wife Letha all of Harrisville; 4 grandchildren Amy Cornelius and her husband Josh of Harrisville, Alan Stevens of Greenville, Wesly Stevens and Kelsey Stevens both of Grove City; two great grandchildren Alexander and Annabella Cornelius; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Pat Shirey. Friends will be received in the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.��Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow in Prairie Cemetery.
