James E. "Jim" Fleming, 81, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
He was born in Turkey City on June 8, 1944 and was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Myers Fleming.
Jim was a 1962 graduate of Keystone High School.
In 1962 he enlisted in this United States Air Force and proudly served his country from nearly four years. Jim served in England in the Security Services.
Jim worked for 36 years at the former Joy Manufacturing as a Systems Designer.
He was a member of the Eagles Club. Jim enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and winning at Scrabble.
On July 3, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Donna Thompson and she survives.
Also surviving is a son David Fleming and his wife Dana; a brother, Paul Fleming Jr. and his wife Annie; a sister Vicky Fox and her husband Doug; a niece, Shelia Alden; and two nephews, Vern Alden Jr. and John Alden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mark Fleming.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Additional visitation will be held at Galloway Church 196 Seysler Road, Franklin from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church with Pastor Roy Gearhart, officiating.
Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S Honor Guard at the conclusion of the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
