Janet L. Kendzior, 80, of Franklin and Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers.
Born in Washington, PA on December 22, 1944, she was born to the late Roy and Catherine Ewing Fulton.
Janet graduated from Washington High School. On May 14, 1966, she married Dr. Gerard M. "Gig" Kendzior, who preceded her in death on August 16, 2020. They shared over 54 years of marriage together.
Earlier in her life, Janet worked at Duke University as a lab technician. Soon after, she helped her husband in the establishment of Kendzior Orthodontics, where she was a bookkeeper until their retirement.
Janet was a long time member of Wanango Country Club where she was an avid tennis player and was involved with the Wanango Ladies’ 18 Holers Golf Club. She was a member of The Franklin Club, The 100 Club, and was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Franklin. In addition to tennis, she enjoyed skiing and bowling, but golf was her biggest passion. Janet and Gig enjoyed many years of traveling and playing golf on courses across the country. Janet had a love of Airedale Terriers, owning 7 of them over her lifetime.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Janet's trusted caretakers, Nancy Carey of Bonita Springs, FL and Judy Gough of Franklin. Their attention and care are deeply appreciated.
Janet is survived by a son, Dr. Bradley Kendzior and his wife Della; two grandchildren, Taylor Amos and her husband Zachary, and Alexis Kendzior and her boyfriend Steven Hollabaugh, all of Franklin; a brother in-law, Rene Kendzior of Dallas, TX; a niece, Kari Wetzel of Dallas TX; and a nephew, Samuel Griest of Washington, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Griest and her husband Samuel, and a sister in-law, Marilyn Kendzior.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin where family and friends will be received from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Saturday for visitation.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Joseph Martin, officiating.
Interment will be at Graham Cemetery in Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions please be made to the Venango County Humane Society or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
