John S. "Jack" Gracy, 87, of Franklin was called to join his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2026 from his great and glorious life on earth.
Born November 27th, 1938 in Franklin, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Gracy and Theresa Petrini Gracy.
Jack lived the definition of a full life. He served his country as a proud Marine, he was a Clarion University graduate, and he married the love of his life, the former Romaine Coast, whom he just celebrated 66 years of marriage with. He became an educator teaching in Tionesta, Sante Fe, New Mexico, and retired from Franklin Area High School. He raised four children and was blessed with six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He loved adventure and traveled as often as he could, seeing Alaska by bus and cruise, Italy, bus trips to Branson, and weekend trips to Myrtle Beach. He was also known to sneak off on camping trips and looking for less than modest beaches.
Jack is survived by his wife, Romaine, and their three children; Cindy Gracy, Steven Gracy, and Matthew Gracy. Six grandchildren; Jennifer (Jesse) Hanna, Jesse Jankovich, Stefani (Brian) Wick, Jeffrey Gracy Jr, Toni Gracy, and Chedi (Jon) Mong. Eight great grandchildren; Matti, Amiyah, Jaxon, Kaeden, Shelby, Macy, Easton and Addeline.
We have no doubt that after complaining to St. Peter about the wait to get in, he was greeted at the rainbow bridge by his dog Maggie and they immediately shared a meal.
The reunion continued with sisters Patricia and Rita Gracy, brother Sam Gracy, and son Jeff Gracy Sr.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park St, Franklin.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church 949 Liberty St, Franklin at 11:00 AM on Thursday with Father James C. Campbell, officiating.
The V.E.T.S. Honor Guard will render military honors at the conclusion of the mass.
Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
Online condolences may be sent to Jack's family by visiting www.huffguthrie.com.
