Kevin R. Smith, 62, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with COPD at his residence on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born in Jamestown, NY, on July 25, 1963 he was the son of the late Donald and Carolyn Cummings Smith.

Kevin had a lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. He and his wife, Lisa, shared that passion and especially enjoyed attending Erie SeaWolves games together. They had been looking forward to crossing a lifelong dream off their bucket list by attending a game at Wrigley Field later this month.

Kevin formerly worked as a counselor at the former WCA Hospital in Jamestown, New York, where he dedicated his career to helping and supporting others.

On June 28, 2007 he married the former Lisa Youd in Franklin and she survives.

Also surviving are two step-children, Kellie Isaac of Olive Branch, MS and Sean Isaac and his partner, Paris of Erie; two-step grandchildren, Jaceon Isaac and Kaelynn Isaac; a sister, Shannon Neubauer and numerous cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Smith Jr.

There will be no visitation or services.
