Lawrence D. "Larry" Walker

Lawrence D. "Larry" Walker, 78, of Franklin passed away at UPMC Hamot in Erie on Saturday, March 9, 2024. 

Born in Seattle, WA on August 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Harold and Theresa Mortensen Walker. 

Larry retired from the H.J. Heinz Company in 2003.

Larry was a member of the Cranberry Area Lions Club where he served as Secretary and he also volunteered at Jennings Environmental Center in Slippery Rock and the Pennsylvania Senior Environmental Core. 

On March 11, 1967 he married the former Betti Lamb in California and she survives. They would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on Monday. 

Also surviving are three children, Elisa Walker of Philadelphia, Emily Walker Piehl of Antioch, IL, Christy Walker and her husband Jono Tew of Chestertown, MD; three grandchildren, Sedona Walker-Morrissay of Berlin, Germany, Tommy Piehl and Ella Piehl both of Antioch, IL and three sisters, Lois Mason of Santa Rosa, CA, June Walker of Charlotte, NC and Kathrun Parker of Grass Valley, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

There will be no visitation. 

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Cranberry Area Lions Club at 106 E State Street Seneca PA 16346, St. Patrick's Food Pantry at 952 Buffalo Street Franklin PA 16323, or Jennings Environmental Education Center at C/O Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road Portersville PA 16051.
