Margaret A. Benson

Margaret A. Benson, 79, of Seneca, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, June 25, 2026. 

Born in Kane, PA on March 24, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Avaenella Bauer Bures.

She was a graduate of Kane High School. 

Peg most recently worked at the Caring Place in the housekeeping department for over 10 years. 

She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. 

Peg attended church at the First Church of God of Franklin. 

On July 16, 1994, she married Terry Benson and he survives. 

Also surviving are two children, Scott Carlson and Rhonda Heffner; two step-children, Shawn Benson and Todd Benson; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Gordon Carlson and brother, Allen Bures.

There will be no visitation or services. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Interment will be made at Lamey Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Penland at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and VNA Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Peg and her family.
