Marian L. Pierce, 95, of Franklin, passed away at 4:49 P.M. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Cleveland Clinic - Avon.

Born in Franklin on January 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George and Jessie Gibbons Swyers.Marian was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

She worked for many years as an instructor at Riverview Intermediate Unit #6.

Marian loved quilting, baking, crossword puzzles and was always on the move. She was a woman of strong faith and attended many local churches, most recently Christ Church of Franklin.

On September 10, 1948, she married Richard E. "Dick" Pierce and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2018. They celebrated 70 years of marriage together.

Surviving are two sons; Richard "Rick" Pierce and his wife Diane of Avon Lake, OH, and Jeffrey Pierce of Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Doris "Dee" Pierce of Franklin; five grandchildren, Bryon Pierce and his wife Annie of Bay Village, OH, Brett Pierce of Nashville, TN, Jeffrey Pierce Jr. and his wife Maria of Vancouver, B.C., Heather Gricks and her husband Paul of Oil City and Craig Pierce and his wife Charity of Franklin.

Additionally surviving are five great-grandsons; Haiden Schmader of SC, Bryce and Carson Gricks of Oil City and Brayden and Brennan Pierce of Bay Village, OH; three step-granddaughters, Arielle, Aly and Ashley all of Vancouver, B.C. and a great-great grandchild.She was preceded by her parents; her husband; a son, Steven Pierce; and a sister Blanche "Bonnie" Beach.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin were family and friends are welcome from Noon - 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sam Wagner, officiating.

Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery.
