Michael Scott Olsen, 60, of Franklin found his peace from a dark hole, on a high rock with a beautiful view on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Born in Franklin on January 21, 1964, he was the son of the late Larry and Betty McDonald Olsen.
Michael was a 1982 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. During his time there, he was very active in the wrestling program, where he made many friends and cherished memories.
He was happiest spending his summer nights at the local dirt track and spending weekends at camp, driving his golf cart.
Michael never met a stranger and became fast friends with anyone he crossed paths with. He was most proud of his children and of the work he had done with Johnson and Anderson Excavation and Hardscapes over the years. Michael was a man who was dedicated to his work, which can still be seen in every project he was involved in.
Left to share Michael’s memory are his children, Shene Brenot, Miranda (Brian) Stafford, and Dakota (Sarah) Olsen. His grand-babies, Bella, Wyatt, Shelby, Monika, and Maesie. Also left to treasure his memory is his significant other Joane Beach and her son Dawson, his sister Barb (Matt) DeLong, his brother Matt (Julie) Olsen, and several loved nieces and nephews. Michael will also be greatly missed by his hound dog sidekick, Bo, and his baby girl, Hope.
To honor Michael’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park Street, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael’s honor to the Venango County Humane Society at 286 S Main St, Seneca, PA 16346, the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department at 29 Shuffstall St, Franklin, PA 16323, or the Free Care Fund of Children’s Hospital UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation PO Box 535240 Pittsburgh, PA 15253-5240.
