Patricia J. Krantz

April 21, 1924 — August 9, 2015

Patricia J. Krantz, 91, formerly a resident of Erie, Pa, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Sugar Creek Station nursing care facility in Franklin, Pa.

Pat, the oldest daughter of the late Joseph L. and Helen L. Schwabenbauer Guth, was born in Clarion, PA, on April 21, 1924. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie. Just out of high school Pat worked as a secretary for Cathedral Prep, she later worked at Investor's Diversified Services, Erie Foundry, the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office and she retired from the Pennsylvania Welfare Office, all in Erie.

Pat married John S. Krantz, Jr. of Lawrence Park in Oct. 1952. They had two daughters, Nancy Ann and Diane Patricia Krantz.

Pat enjoyed music, playing cards, dancing, swimming, golfing, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. She and her sister, ‘Whoopie', took cruises and trips to Europe, Hawaii and other destinations and spent part of several winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Krantz Baker of Franklin, PA and Diane Krantz McLaughlin of Howard, PA, her sons in law, Michael C. Baker and Robert L. McLaughlin, her sister Ruth Ann ‘Whoopie' Brabender of Erie, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, her two brothers James Guth of Erie and Robert Guth of Shohola, PA, and their wives Janet and Duffy.

There will be no public visitation. Services and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Erie.

The family is especially grateful to the staff at Sugar Creek Station for taking such good care of Pat and treating her like a member of their own families. Please send memorials to a charity of your choice.
