Patricia "Pat" Selden

Patricia "Pat" Selden, 89, of Mercer, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born December 18, 1935 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Natalia Swiezawski Selden.

Pat was a graduate of Oil City High School and later earned an Associate Degree.

She worked as an RN at Polk Center for over 30 years.

Pat was a member of the former Galloway United Methodist Church.

She was known for her complete dedication to her "kids" at work. Every Friday, she would make a special meal for the employees and children at Polk Center. As supervisor, Pat made it a point to meet people where they were and to make them know they were valued and appreciated in what they did. Everyone was treated as family and taken care of as such.

Pat was married on January 26, 1957 to her husband, Elwood Selden, who preceded her in death on September 16, 2004.

She is survived by a son, Kyle E. Selden of Mercer; three grandchildren, Evyn P. Selden, Tia M. Selden, and Sloan Selden, all of Mercer.

Pat is additionally survived by nieces and nephews, Lynn Ann Selden of NC, Lorrene K. Wagner of Dempsytown, Sandra Johnston and husband Wayne, James Walker, and Larry Walker, all of TX.

In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Frank A. Selden, and a brother, Edward Wagner.

There will be no services at this time.
