Phyllis R. Smith, 92, of Polk, entered her Heavenly Home the morning of Thursday, March 26, 2026 at her home surrounded by family.
Daughter of the late Lloyd R. and Bessie A. Daily Marshall, Phyllis was born on September 16, 1933 in Kittaning.
She was a graduate of Kittaning High School.
Phyllis worked as an RSA at Polk Center for 25 years.
She married the love of her life, Herman R. Smith, on December 12, 1951. They shared 70 years of marriage together until his passing in 2021.
Phyllis loved the Lord and was a member of Church of the Nazarene of Franklin.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Phyllis loved spending time with her children and was overjoyed to be able to take care of her grandchildren. Being there for her family meant the world to her, and they will all miss her dearly.
Surviving Phyllis are her three children and their spouses; Brad Smith and his wife Amy, of Polk, Cindy Holmes and her husband Leroy, of North Augusta, SC, and Tina Shontz and her husband Tom, of Polk. Grandchildren who lovingly remember her are Jessica Schiffer and her husband Todd, Jennifer Taylor and her husband Zac, Jayla Frankenburger and her husband Austin, Mike Smith and his wife Stevie, Lily Smith, Sarah Flick, Craig Flick and his wife Mallory, Amanda Owen and her husband Adam, and Wayne Greier and his wife Sara. Additionally surviving Phyllis is a sister, Kay Fink, and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by sister Helen, sister Jean, brother Richard, and a loved great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park St, Franklin where friends and family will be received from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. Monday.
A funeral service will take place immediately following at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Smith of Church of the Nazarene of Franklin and Rev. Dr. Darrell Greenawalt of Christ Church Franklin, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
