Regis P. "Rick" Reed

Regis P. "Rick" Reed, 77, of Cooperstown, passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Hamot in Erie at 2:20 A.M. on Monday, September 8, 2025

Born in Miola on March 22, 1948, he was the son of the late William Paul and Verna Marie Moore Reed.

Regis proudly served his country in the United States Marines, serving time in Vietnam.

Regis was well known in Cooperstown for making his rounds in his side-by-side, stopping to visit with friends and catch up on the latest news.

He worked for 45 years in the maintenance department at the former Joy Manufacturing.

On June 29, 1973 he married the former Jane Oakes and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sheila Irwin (Dave) of Clintonville and Shannon Elliott (Nicholas) of Ashtabula, OH; two grandchildren, Devin Phenicie (Samantha) of Franklin and Brandon Phenicie of Franklin; three great- grandchildren, Anna, Kimber and Barrett and two sisters, Ruth Booth and Maxine Griebel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce Buck and Jean Griebel; a brother, William Reed and an infant sister.

At his request there will be no visitation or services.
