Rev. Daryl J Adams, Sr., 86, of Polk, met with the Lord on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born on April 8, 1939 in Polk, Daryl was the son of the late Dorothy Carter and Lester E. Adams, Sr.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School and later graduated from Transylvania Bible School in 1962. From there, Daryl began his time in ministry as a pastor for the Free Methodist Church.
He shared the Gospel for 40 years, serving in various congregations in different towns: Wooten, KY, South Williamsport, PA, Renova, PA, Brockway and Egypt, PA, Port Allegheny and Austin, PA, Brockway, Penfield, Gardener Hill, and Scattertown, PA, Ashtabula, OH, and Van, PA , where he retired.
After retirement, Daryl led Sunday School classes for the churches he and his family attended. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he started a live online Sunday School class on Saturday evenings, only missing two lessons since the beginning.
On June 23, 1962, he was married to his wife, the former Ethel M. Uber. They shared 63 years of marriage and faithful partnership.
Daryl enjoyed wood working and being in nature. He loved to stay busy, whether that be building furniture, hunting, watching the animals, or just being there for whoever needed a helping hand. He was always willing to assist those in need. Daryl was also known for his gardening, always wanting to share his crops with those in his circle.
His family fondly remembers him as someone who made people laugh. He was always ready to make people smile with a quick joke.
In addition to his wife, Daryl is survived by his son, Daryl J Adams Jr., and his daughter, Yvonne Adams. Also surviving are grandsons Carter J and Noah Andrew. Additionally, a sister, Susan (Bob) Hart, and many loved nieces and nephews are left to cherish Daryl's memory.
