Richard E. Morgan

Richard E. Morgan, 95, of Franklin died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home.

A son of Emmett and Anna Hughes Morgan, he was born in Franklin on January 20, 1920. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and Coyne Electrical in Chicago.

A veteran of World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

In 1980 he retired from Joy where he had worked for 40 years.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and had served on many of the boards of the church. He was a life member of Franklin Elks Lodge #110 and the Rainbow Sportsman Club. His hobbies included woodworking, boating, fishing and archery.

On June 10, 1956 he married the former Illa Titus Freeman. She died on May 10, 2013.

Surviving are five children, Sandy Naglowsky and her husband Ron, Al Freeman and his wife Robyn, all of Franklin Glenn Freeman of Florida, Donald Freeman of Pittsburgh, and Bonnie Kokoruda and her husband Steve of Chesapeake, VA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Worden, Mary Lou Mook and Josephine McCracken, a granddaughter Heather Ann Krepp and a grandson Garrett Freeman.

Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Gary B. Atkinson, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church officiating.

Military honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
