Samuel W. Shaw

Samuel W. Shaw, 62, of Franklin, passed away at 7:33 A.M., Saturday, July 19, 2025 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born in Franklin on August 7, 1962, Sam was the son of Patricia Shaw and the late Van Shaw.

Sam worked many years as a Welder.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On November 14, 2011 he married the former Karol Reed and she survives.

Also surviving is his mother, Patricia, his children, Mark Aites (Paula) of WV, Paula Frishkorn (Mike) of Seneca, Krystal Wilson (Hud) of Virginia, Jeff Reed (Kathi) Franklin, Booey Reed of Seneca, Charlie Reed (Missy) of Franklin and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three siblings, Steve Shaw (Linda) of NH, Vanessa Bird (Mike) of Meadville and Valerie King (Jeff) of OH; three nephews, Matthew Bell of FL, Jeremiah Bird of NY and Chris Shaw (Janna) of Erie; and a niece, Stacey Jones (Brett) of OK.

He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Tina Marie Shorts.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Darrell Greenawalt of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
