Sara Lee Mong, 77, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at home after a long illness. She was born on November 1, 1948 to the late Jack F. Kugler, Sr., and Mildred P. (Shull) Kugler, of Franklin.

Sara graduated from Franklin High School in 1967. She married her high school sweetheart, Terry W. Mong Sr., on April 8th, 1966. Together, they raised three children. They were together for 56 years.

She worked at UPMC Northwest Hospital, formerly Franklin Hospital, for 38 years.

Her activities were hunting, reading, and going to the casino. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan her entire life. She and her husband loved going to flea markets all around western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio over the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends around a large bonfire and listening to great music. She loved her dogs, Duke and Daisy, and her cat Squeaky.

Her three children - Terry W. Mong, Jr., and fiancée Amy White of Rouseville, PA; Todd A. Mong and wife Lisa Mohr of Seattle, WA; and Tina M. Mong and husband Christopher Rogers of Phoenix, AZ - remember her with love. Her three granddaughters - Payton and Lexi Mong of Seattle, WA, and Savannah Rogers of Phoenix, AZ - will carry her legacy forward.

Her surviving family members include her sister, Kathy Peterson, and her husband, Del Peterson, of Franklin; sister-in-law, Jean Kugler, of Knox, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sisters: Linda Hickman of Blaine, WA; MaryJane Ruggles of Butler, PA; and brothers Jack F. Kugler, Jr. of Knox, PA, and Michael A. Kugler of Franklin, PA.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 312 W Park St. Franklin, PA where friends and family will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday.

The funeral service will take place immediately following in the funeral home chapel offering a moment for collective remembrance and support with Sara's brother in-law, Mr. Davis, officiating.

Interment will take place at Franklin Cemetery.
