Shirley A. Holibaugh, 78 of Franklin passed away at 10:20 P.M. Thursday July 31, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born, at home in Rocky Grove on March 21, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Elroy and Eleanor Kunkel Sharp.
She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.
Mrs. Holibaugh worked many years with her husband at their business, Jerry's Garage. Shirley and Jerry also worked together building puzzles with Shirley doing the paint work and Jerry the woodwork.
She loved playing cards and other games and also was an avid crafter.
Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren whom she took a special trip with to Mt. Rushmore.
She was a longtime active and faithful member of Galloway United Methodist Church. She was active in the church choir and the "Handi Helper's" Sunday school class. One of Shirley's favorite memories was traveling with the church choir to Kentucky for a performance.
On March 3, 1956 she married Gerald Holibaugh at Galloway United Methodist Church and he survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Teri Hendrickson of Lakemoor, IL, Kimberly Miller of Simpsonville, SC, and Angela Beyerl of Gray Court, SC; nine grandchildren; Steve, Josh, Jeremy, Tim, and Rich Hendrickson, Ryan Miller and Nikki Miller and Zack and Zane Beyerl; a great-grandson, John Hendrickson; a sister Marion Ruditis of Franklin; and many close family members who were wonderful caretakers to her, especially, Deb Resinger who was like a daughter to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Whitman and Elsie Feltenberger and a son-in-law, Todd Hendrickson.
Family and friends welcome Monday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Galloway United Methodist Church, 196 Seysler Rd., Franklin with the Rev. Roy Gearhart , Pastor of the church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
The family would like to thank extended family, nephews, nieces, and cousins who cared for Shirley so selflessly over the years, including Mike, Ruth and Cindy Ruditis, Deb Resinger and Kay Longenecker.
The family would also like to thank the nursing staff at Sugarcreek Station and at UPMC Northwest 2 North for going above and beyond for the care they gave to Shirley and their entire family.
