Stephen S. Guth, 58, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Born on November 25, 1967, in Oil City; he was the son of the late Wilfred H. "Willie" and Nancy McFadden Guth.

A 1986 graduate of Franklin High School, he went on to attend the Northwood Institute in Midland, MI. There he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and an Associate's Degree in Automotive Marketing.

After graduation, Steve returned to Franklin and began working alongside his father and brother at Allegheny Toyota. He was deeply passionate about the family business and cared whole-heartedly for his customers.

Steve had a deep appreciation for history. He was particularly interested in the Civil War and World War II. He could often be found reading and rereading historical texts. He also enjoyed reenacting the very events he would read in his Civil War books. It could be said his favorite place to visit was Gettysburg, especially Little Round Top.

Beyond history, Steve had a profound interest in space. He was fascinated by NASA and space exploration. Often, he would wake his family up in odd hours to stare off into the night sky.

He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church, where he served as a Eucharist minister.

On August 19, 1994, he married the former Robyn McMunn in St. Patrick Church and she survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Joshua D. Guth, Ryan M. Guth and his wife Kyla, and Danielle L. Guth; two siblings, Michael P. Guth and his wife Sarah of Franklin, and Michelle L. Blass and her husband Guy of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law, Rose Meyer and her husband Nevin and brother-in- law, Scott McMunn and his wife Connie; his faithful companion, Bear; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Samantha Guth; mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Marylou McMunn; brother-in-law, Michael McMunn; nephew, Christopher McMunn; and his Old English Sheepdog, Darby.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the love and support of our family and friends and for the incredible Aseracare Hospice team for the compassionate care that allowed Steve to remain comfortable at home surrounded by love.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. & 5:00 -8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 22nd.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 23rd in St. Patrick Church with Father James C. Campbell, officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steve's name to the Venango County Humane Society, Precious Paws Animal Rescue, or Jenny's Dream Rescue.
