Steven Craig Turner, 78 passed to heaven from his home on August 30, 2026 surrounded by his family, after suffering a stroke three years ago.

He will be missed by his golf buddies from Wanango and Lucky Hills winter simulator. They include Bill Hager, Mike Koman, Mike Padalino, Mick Reed, Rick Motter and Jim DuPont. He also had friends from Avalon courses in New Castle and Sharon.

Steve had always been athletic, playing basketball and running track, from junior high to college at Bucknell. Where he earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration and his Masters in Mathematics. He joined the ROTC at Bucknell and served 4 years in the Army mostly in Schweinfurt, Germany discharged as a Lieutenant.

He worked for Avon in Connecticut, Lorangers in Warren PA, General Manager at PX Imaging in Philadelphia, Wells Fargo in Reading before moving to Franklin. He was employed as General Manager at Matric Limited and then at its subsidiary, Windurance in Moon Twp. His ethics and fairness in leadership found praise by employees.

Steve was on the board at Workforce and Franklin YMCA.

Steve is and will always be loved beyond measure. He survived by his wife, Betsy, son Matt (Kristin Linse) of Columbus OH and daughter Stefanie Zieger (Henning) and granddaughters, Lexi and Illy, of Pasadena, California. He also leaves his sister, Sue (Dennis) Keefe of McKeesport and nieces and nephew. He leaves multiple Thompson cousins in Kane, Aunt Joanne and Uncle Jim Thompson of Emporium and Aunt Robyn Thompson in Lewisburg. He leaves the Massie Sisterhood and Brotherhood. They include Joanne (Carl) Haddle, Chris and Mike Medvec, Audrey and Gary Spahr, with nieces and nephews as well.

Steve is preceded in death by His beloved mother, Shirley (Thompson) Grosch, Stepfather, Don Grosch and father, L Sam Turner and brother in law, Carl W Haddle.

There are no current plans for a service. A celebration of a life well lived will be held at a later date.

The family acknowledges and thanks profusely Carolyn and Chuck Porter for their never ending support and Phyllis, Carrie and Cheryl of the VNA Hospice.

Memorials and contributions can be donated to the VNA Foundation or the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin or Tabor Lutheran in Kane.
