Teresa K. Swatzler, 84, of Franklin passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at her residence.
Born November 10, 1930 in Grove City, she was a daughter of the late James and Kathryn McCann Ahearn.
Teresa attended Sacred Heart Academy and then graduated from Franklin High School in 1948.
She worked for a period of time at Joy Manufacturing.
Teresa was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church and was a longtime volunteer for Debence Antique Music World, the Franklin Library, and the Salvation Army as a toy maker. She was an accomplished artist who enjoyed expressing herself in a variety of media. Teresa was also an avid flower gardener for many years.
Surviving are four children: David G. Swatzler and his partner Gary Marzolf of Franklin; Valerie Gittings and her husband Carl of Fairmont, WV; Michael H. Swatzler and his wife Kathleen of Franklin; and Paul E. Swatzler and his wife Kelly of Franklin.
Also surviving are two sisters: Colleen Ahearn of Erie and Lois Keefe of Erie; five grandchildren: Lauren Swatzler and Nick Swatzler of Franklin; Tom Yankosky of New Cumberland; David Gittings of Albuquerque, NM; and Carl Gittings of Ashville, NC; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: James Ahearn and Thomas Michael Ahearn; and two sisters: Elizabeth Marsteller and Dorothy Fuhrmann.
Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin. Additional visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. Friday in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Friday at St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty St., Franklin, with Monsignor John Herbein, presiding.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Teresa's memory to a charity of one's choice.
