Thomas R. Moffitt

Thomas Richard Moffitt, 85 of 327 Crestview Dr. Franklin died at 6:00 A.M. Wednesday March 7, 2012 at his residence.

Born December 23, 1926 in Franklin he was a son of the late R. Bruce and Dorothy Campbell Moffitt.

Tom was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School.

He worked as a truck driver at Daniels Transfer for 30 years.

Tom was a member of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church.

He was an avid outdoor sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was Past President of the Franklin Isaac Walton League and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a 55 year Mason in the Lodge of Perfection, New Castle Consistory.

On April 23, 1949 he married the former Eleanore Huston and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Andrew T. Moffitt and his friend Billie Coleman, Frederick J. Moffitt and his wife Colette; one daughter, Diane T. Pirschel and her husband Michael; six grandchildren, T.J. Moffitt, Catherine, Jason and Rachel Moffitt, Erich Pirschel, and Christopher Pirschel and his wife Rachael; two great grandchildren, Gage Moffitt and Ian Gnacinski ;one brother William C. Moffitt and his wife Marilyn and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert B. Moffitt and two sisters, Marsha Shorts and Marilyn Allen.

Friends will be received from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. Friday at Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Nageotte, Pastor of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
