Thomas G. Turner, 75, of Franklin, PA, went to be with the Lord while his loving wife was holding his hand at 1:11 A.M. on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born in Franklin June 11, 1949. He was a 1968 graduate of Rocky Grove High School and joined the U.S. Navy that June as a Corpsman. He did an 18 month deployment in Vietnam as a Combat Medic attached with the Marines. Honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 3rd Class 26 June 1972.
He eventually returned to the Franklin area and obtained a degree in Electrical Technology from the Newcastle School of trade On October 5, 1987. He worked for various local electrical, HVAC, and Steel companies. He eventually retired from V and M Star, L.P. in Youngstown, Ohio.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Alice Turner, and mother in law Lucille Weber, as well as his beloved first wife Diane (Lela) Turner.
He is survived by his wife Luann Turner who he married on July 31, 2010, his daughters Joanna Turner and Sara Thomas and her husband Brian both from Virgina Beach. His son Jesse Daw and his wife Monica of Guys Mills. His Grandchildren Jacob and Diana Turner- Peterson of Virginia Beach, and Lydia and Lylith Daw, Keely and Brynn Lydic of Guys Mills. His sisters Carol McMasters and her husband Barry and Linda Turner, both of Rocky Grove and brother James Turner and his wife Lynn of Erie. As well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Tom liked spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren, riding bikes and enjoying the outdoors. Tom also enjoyed keeping busy and helping people working on home improvement projects and repairs. He was a member of the Franklin VFW, Franklin Moose as well as mixed bowling league at Buffalo Lanes.
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park Street Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 11:00 A.M. -2:00 PM and 5:00 -7:00 PM Wednesday April 30, 2025.
A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday May 1, 2025 in the funeral home chapel officiated by Pastor Jon Martin.
Military honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S Honor Guard at the conclusion of the funeral service.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Wounded Warriors Project.
