Tracy H. Miller III, 81, of the Masonic Village in Sewickley, formerly of Franklin passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
Born March 24, 1943 in Franklin, he was the son of the late Tracy H. and Jean L. Dickens Miller Jr.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School and the National School of Meat Cutting, in Toledo, OH. He was retired from the Department of Public Welfare, Polk Center as Safety Manager. He was employed at Polk Center for 33 years.
Mr. Miller was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force.
Tracy served in a number of different organizations volunteering his time. He enjoyed training dogs for search and rescue and was the co founder of the Venango County Bloodhound Team and served as a board member of the National Police Bloodhound Association.
Tracy belonged to a number of Masonic Organizations as follows; Past Master of the former Myrtle Lodge No. 316 F & AM, of Franklin, Past Master of Doric Lodge No. 640 F & AM of Sewickley, Valley of Pittsburgh Scottish Rite, Syria Shine, Past High Priest of Cyrus Chapter No. 236 of Royal Arch Masons, Zeribbabel-Duquesne Royal Arch Chapter No. 162, Charter Member of Sewickley High Twelve Club No. 759, a former chapter Dad for the Venango County Chapter Order Of DeMolay, Board Member of the Wm. Slater II Master Mason's Club, and co-founder of the "Enchanted Evening" at the Masonic Village at Sewickley. He recently received the "Centurion Award."
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities.
Surviving is his wife the former, Sandra Dreisbach, whom he married May 18, 1963; a son, Terry W. Miller and his wife Annette of Utica and a daughter, Tracey L. Harris and her husband Brian of Utica; a grandson, Mitchell W. Miller (Kim) serving on active duty with the United States Coast Guard; a granddaughter, Tiffany B. Hempfling and her husband Tyler of Slippery Rock; three great-grandchildren, Landon Hempfling, Reagan Hempfling and Eloise Miller; a brother Kris Miller and his wife Candy of Polk and a sister Susan Biddle and her husband Bill of Seneca and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Friend to Friend, Masonic Village at Sewickley, Masonic Village at Sewickley Children's Home, The Shriner's Hospital for Children in Erie or The North Sandy Presbyterian Church in Utica.
