Velma DeJulia, 74 of 1107 Otter St. Franklin entered into the arms of Jesus at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday February 13, 2014 at her residence.
Born November 5, 1939 in St. Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Gaynell Brown Peters.
Velma attended Penn State University and graduated with an Associate?s Degree.
She was an avid reader and read 999 books on her kindle this past year. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very easygoing and easy to talk to.
On May 23, 1956 she married Loreto DeJulia and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2002.
Surviving are four children; Tony DeJulia and his partner Nancy Schuster of Sharon, Lori Ann DeJulia of Sharon, John DeJulia and his partner Heather Craig of Sharpsville and Donna DeJulia and her partner Michelle Finnecy of Oil City; 12 grandchildren, Tony DeJulia Jr., Cortney DeJulia, Desiree DeJulia, Jason Laverty, David Johnson Jr., Leanna Johnson Saul, Jayson Saul, Alexis Johnson, Mallory Saul, Gianna Saul, Dakota DeJulia, and Sierra DeJulia; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Additionally she is survived by her best friends since childhood, Sandra Mezaros ?Stickle? and Norma Beni ?Beanie?; and three very special friends; Wanda DeJulia, Jimmy Johnson, Betty DeJulia, and Lisa Marie Garofali.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, three sisters , one brother and her beloved dog, cool hand ?Luke?.
There will be no visitation or services.
