Walter H. Miller, 81, of Franklin, passed away the morning of May 4, 2025.

Son of the late Harold J. and Gaynell B. Sharrer Miller, Walt was born on September 25, 1943 in Kittanning.

He was a 1962 graduate of Franklin High School, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete.

Soon after graduation, he started working at Franklin Steel, where he worked for 43 years until his retirement in 2005.

On June 4, 1966, Walt married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, the former Diana M. Brown, and she survives.

Walt was an avid outdoorsman, never missing an opportunity to go hunting or fishing. He was a member of the Order of the Elks, the Eagles Club, and the Sandycreek Conservancy. Additionally, he was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities over the years.

What Walt loved the most was spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling and sharing new experiences with them. Being able to watch his children and grandchildren grow up was his greatest joy.

In addition to his wife, Walt is survived by two sons, John Miller of Hermitage and Brent Miller of Franklin. Two grandchildren are left to cherish his memory, Courtney Miller of Pittsburgh and Andrew "A.J." Miller of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings; Paul Miller and his wife Patsy, Joyce Ace and her husband Bob. Also preceding him in death were his in-laws, Charles and Lucy Brown.

Walt's immediate family would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
