William “Bill” D. Jones, 80, of Franklin, passed away at the Caring Place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Born in McKeesport on July 2, 1945, he was the son of the late David Vincent and Janet Bryce Jones.

Bill Graduated from McKeesport High School in 1963, he attended college, but he decided that it wasn't for him. He briefly worked with his father in his rental business and owned a pizza shop with his best friend. After that he worked with Penndot for over thirty years before retiring in July 1998.

Bill was of Methodist faith and often helped church while his health allowed.

Over the years Bill enjoyed bowling, monthly Poker games with the guys, and volunteer work with RSVP, Meals on Wheels and the video booth at his church. He enjoyed watching the different Pittsburgh teams except the Steelers, then you would find him doing laundry. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was always a phone call away if they needed him. He loved Buddy Holly music and old westerns. He shared a love of scary movies and Mel Brooks films with his daughter Kelley. In his retirement he was able to enjoy traveling with his wife Edna to several states over the country. Bill will be remembered by loved ones and all that knew him for his kind, loving spirit.

On April 22, 1989, he married the former Edna Hoffman and she survives. Bill was a Polio survivor but that never stopped him from living life to the fullest.

Also surviving are three children; Shelly (John) Bury of Martinsburg, WV, David (Staci) Jones of White Oak and Kelley Williams of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Krista (Fred) Brandenburg of Baden; seven grandchildren, Alex (Melissa) Grebur, Karissa (Justo) Hernandez, John Bury, Jenson Bury, Raya Jones, Joseph Bury and Lillian Williams, two step-grandchildren, Ian and Lake Brandenburg; and three great-grandchildren, Dominic, Carter and Jameson Grebur.

Additionally he is survived by a sister, Margaret (Paul) Miller; a nephew, Matthew (Alice); a niece, Megan (Greg), several great - nephews, his former wife Florence Jones and former son-in-law, Scott Williams.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Monday.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 1102 Liberty St. Franklin, PA with Pastor Connie Hoeke, officiating.
