William M. Betros

William M. Betros, 83, of Boyers, died unexpectedly at 12:18 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Allegheny General, Pittsburgh.

A son of William and Elda R. Maus Betros, he was born on April 27, 1932 in Fairview. He attended Karns City High School.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a sergeant during the Korean War.

In 1988 Bill retired from National Underground Storage where he had worked in construction as an electrician. He had previously worked at Witco in Petrolia. Bill was well-known as a bricklayer.

He was a member of the Boyers United Methodist Church. For over 50 years he was a member of Grove City Lodge 603 F&AM, additionally he was a member of the New Castle Consistory, and the Harrisville American Legion Post 852. Gardening, hunting and his beloved dog, Buddy brightened his life.

On December 24, 1952 he married the former W. Jean Stoops, who survives along with a daughter Kathy D. Sisler and her husband Carl of Harrisville and a son William S. Betros and his wife Patti of Boyers, a grandson Christopher Cokain, his twin-sister Wilma Guilyard, and her husband Albert of DuBois, and a sister-in-law Eleanor of FL.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Betros

Friends will be received in the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Kate Reitz, pastor of Boyers United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Old Annandale Cemetery.
